For a long time in Australia, if you were looking for any kind of event outfit, the first place you went was Myer or David Jones.
Home to hundreds of fashion brands, the iconic department stores were billed as one stop shops for all of your sartorial shopping needs.
And whether you needed a new pair of jeans or a black tie dress, there were always countless options there to choose from.

Then, the internet and viral smaller brands came along and suddenly everyone decided that visiting a department store was the old-fashioned way of doing things and you were much better off shopping directly from your Instagram algorithm.
But no more.
This autumn, Myer has hugely levelled up its fashion offering, selling brands including The Wolf Gang, Gap and Kinney for the first time.
Below, 7You previews some of the latest and greatest from Myer.

The Wolf Gang

When it comes to an outfit that is here to make a statement, The Wolf Gang is often top of my list for something that will have everyone asking ‘where did you get that from?’
With its statement buttons, bold colours and pretty prints, The Wolf Gang is an Australian lifestyle brand founded by Vanessa Pearce in Adelaide, known for blending bold prints, bright colours, and artisan-made details inspired by travel and 60s/70s nostalgia.
Founded in 2016, the brand has grown from its popular suede clutches into a global label offering ready-to-wear apparel, swimwear, and accessories.
Highlights on the Myer website right now include the Irida Vest Dress in Yellow ($280), as well as the Verona Maxi Dress in Red ($390).
Personally, I’ve got my eye on the Pinsa Mini Dress in Red ($320), with its bold, on-trend colour and fun sun-shaped buttons.
Kinney

Next up is a brand I personally love for elevated basics: Kinney.
Founded in 2017 by Jana Carlton in the Adelaide Hills, it’s known for effortless casual luxury styles and focuses on versatile, easy-to-wear clothing designed for all body shapes.
I have a jumper I bought more than five years ago from Kinney and I still regularly turn to it every winter when I want something with a luxury feel in a vibrant colour.
Kinney has now joined Myer, and there are 25 items available to shop right now.
My personal taste in Kinney always gravitates towards the knitwear.
This season, I’m all about the Harper Knit Jumper in Red ($269) and the Lottie Jumper Knit in Navy ($269), both of which I see myself pairing with a pair of jeans and boots as soon as the weather turns cool.
Gap
It’s the heritage brand whose re-launch into Australia has already captured the attention of some of the coolest fashion people in the know.
And for a brand that started in 1969 as a brand with denim and records, Gap has become synonymous with individual style.
After years of absence from the local retail landscape, the American icon has officially returned, landing in Australia through a new partnership with Myer.
For Myer, the partnership signals a strategic move to reinvigorate its fashion offering and attract a younger, style-conscious audience.
Executive Chair Olivia Wirth has positioned Gap’s arrival as a key moment in reshaping the retailer’s brand mix, aligning with a wider push to modernise its in-store and online experience.
Right now, there are close to 150 items on the Myer Gap homepage.
Highlights include the Sleeveless Corset Top in Denim ($109.95) and the Barrel Leg Jeans ($159.95).
By Johnny

Last but certainly not least, By Johnny has joined Myer and it’s the perfect destination for your next event outfit.
With the trend for polka dots going nowhere, the highlight from the autumn lineup has to be the Paloma Polka Ankle Dress in Brown ($320) and the mini dress in the same print ($290).
But there are so many pieces that you can invest in to update your wardrobe.
