Spring is one of my favorite times of the year for a little (or big) home refresh. Holidays like Mother’s Day and Memorial Day are just about here, so I often host familiy and friends for a few nights at time. As Yahoo’s resident interior designer, I was amazed at the high-end, design-worthy furniture pieces I found at Walmart. I’m talking about impeccable pieces at reasonable prices that I’d be proud to put in my own home. Layer in Walmart’s impressive discounts and you can afford to add everything to your cart and still splurge on a spa day.
Some of my favorite deals include a comfy corduroy sofa for just $290 (it’s been known to sell out, so score this three-seater now) and a queen mattress that’s marked down to $167 (nearly 10,000 Walmart shoppers give it five stars). You’ll also want to check out the jaw-dropping price on this bestselling entryway table I found — it’s down to $63 (was $130) and this gorgeous upholestered chair that’s on sale for less than $100. There’s more to explore, but I’ve curated some of my favorite furniture pieces below from Walmart’s spring furniture sale. Make sure to scoop up these finds before they sell out.
An easy way to make any room in your home look more chic? Add an accent chair, like this bestseller that comes in five colors — both neutrals (ivory, gray and black) and standout hues (mustard yellow and blue). The rounded design is sleek and modern, but rest assured this chair is still super comfy to sit in. Another plus: It’s less than $100!
This sofa — made up of two large seat cushions and three back cushions — is textured and firm, providing a comfy seat for your visitors without putting you in debt. It’s $210 off at Walmart in gray, beige and green. It measures 87″ long, allowing for three people to sit on it together. It’s been known to sell out, so buy it while it’s back in stock.
Mirrors reflect light in the room, leaving it bright and airy. Use as an accent piece in your living spaces or add one to your bedroom, dressing area or entry so you can be sure you look your best before you leave the house. The elegant arch provides detail while the frame is clean and simple. Hang on the wall or stand.
A quality mattress doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg — in fact, this queen offering from NapQueen is only $167. It promises a luxurious, cozy sleep experience thanks to its memory foam structure with cooling gel infusion, which helps you sleep without any night sweats. Oh, and nearly 10,000 Walmart shoppers give if five stars.
You know that feeling of sliding into crisp sheets in a nice hotel? Well, you can have that same five-star experience by making the bed with this microfiber set that’s down to a low $18. It’s available in more than 50 colors, so there’s something to match every style and look. And you can scoop it up in other sizes, too — twin, full and king.
Now discounted by nearly $70, this console is the stylish piece you need to hold your keys, mail and bag; you could also decorate it with some books and flowers. It’s extra-long for tight spaces and also works behind the sofa.
Rich ebonized wood, sexy arches, patterned glass — I’m swooning over the design of this buffet. Fit with drawers and cabinets, it’s ideal storage for your dining room, kitchen, living room … just about anywhere. I’m digging this cool coastal gray, but it’s also available in a crisp white with a wood top that works well with traditional or farmhouse-style homes. For just over $200, you can’t go wrong.
I’m drawn to architectural details, like the beautiful arch of this bookcase cabinet combo. Classic shaker doors keep it casual, while dark hardware provides contrast against the oak finish. My suggestion: Display books and decorative objects on top and store unsightly bric-a-brac underneath. Also available in sleek black, even the legs are showing off their curves.
With a no-tools-required assembly (just peel and stick), it’s no wonder this headboard is a Walmart bestseller. The design softens your bedroom, while the upholstery gently cradles your head while you sit up and read at night. Give your bedroom some polish with this gem that’s on sale for $50.
Simple in design but ergonomic all the way, this standing desk is the perfect blend of form and function. Available in multiple finishes, it will complete your home office and work well with any aesthetic. Electronically controlled, the height adjusts from 29 to 48 inches with two-position memory functions, so it lifts to your settings conveniently and quickly.
This two-tiered clothes rack on wheels provides extra storage anywhere you need it. Use it in the laundry room to dry your delicates, then simply roll it to your bedroom to unload. Add it to a corner as a dressing area and stage your clothes and accessories for the next day. Available in multiple colors, it’s a great addition to a small closet.
Made of 100% wood and replete with natural knots and tree rings, this set of nesting end tables is a steal. You’ll get two heights: 16 inches (great as a coffee table) and 18 inches (ideal as a side table), for housing drinks, books or lamps. I personally love how the natural wood quickly warms up a room. Use in your den, living room or beside your favorite bedroom reading chair.
Designer looks for budget prices? I’ll take one of everything — and you should too. (Walmart)
