Jamarra Ugle-Hagan’s lifeline at Gold Coast will extend into a second year.
The former No.1 draft pick was delisted ahead of the list lodgment deadline on Friday, but the Suns have committed to re-drafting him in next month’s draft.
Ugle-Hagan was given a second chance at reviving his AFL career by Gold Coast after the Western Bulldogs cut ties with him at the end of 2025 following a year of off-field challenges.

The 24-year-old was traded to the Suns for pick 74 but managed just three games at senior level in 2026.
Gold Coast have also delisted former Adelaide forward Elliott Himmelberg, with the same commitment to re-draft him as well.
“The Gold Coast Suns have signalled their intent to select forwards Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and Elliott Himmelberg in next month’s Telstra AFL draft after the pair were delisted today,” the Suns said in a statement.
“Ugle-Hagan played three senior matches in his first season in Suns colours in 2026.
“Himmelberg previously played 50 AFL matches for Adelaide, but is yet to feature at senior level for the Suns after battling several serious injury setbacks.”
Ugle-Hagan and Suns teammate Mac Andrew were spotted walking out of a disabled toilet together during the NRL’s State of Origin decider in July, but were cleared of any wrongdoing after a club investigation.

Meantime 2024 SSP signing Ben Jepson has earned another contract at the Suns.
“Midfielder Ben Jepson will also remain in the red, gold and blue in 2027 after signing a one-year contract extension,” the club said.
“The 25-year-old has played six matches for the Suns since joining as a supplemental selection period (SSP) selection ahead of the 2025 season.
“Gold Coast currently holds selections 8, 81, 85 and 103 in the 2026 Telstra AFL Draft to be held on Thursday, November 19 and Friday, November 20.”
Meantime, St Kilda have committed to re-drafting Ryan Byrnes and Dan Butler in the rookie draft after the pair were delisted on Friday.
“We’ve had several positive conversations with Ryan and Dan since the end of the season and made it clear we’re committed to re-selecting them,” Saints footy boss Lenny Hayes said.
“They have both been valued members of our program for several seasons.
“During this time, they have proven reliable contributors and we’re confident they will play their role for the team again next year.”
